MOST PLAYFUL CAT BREED

MOST PLAYFUL CAT BREED

Top 5: Most Playful CatsWhen choosing a cat, some people dream about quite and tender ball of fur, which spends all day sleeping on a pillow. Other prefer playful and energetic, havoc wrecking daredevils, that spend their days playing with toys and chasing flies.

And if you are wondering «Which cat breed is most playful», then you definitely from the latter group of people. But which breed should you choose?

Top 5: Most Playful Cats

Abyssinian is number one on the list. They are able to spend whole day chasing imaginary prey without rest, thanks to their agile bodies, intelligent and curious mind and cheerful spirit. Adults, children and other pets alike won’t be bored with Abyssinian in the house.

Those cats are hyperactive, sometimes it is hard to calm them down. If a bee or a butterfly found its way in to your home, Abyssinian wont rest until it is caught, and their natural tenacity allows them to chase their pray for very long periods of time.

Abyssinian should NOT be isolated in small spaces (cages, closets) for long periods of time, they might develop neurosis and whole bucket of associated illnesses.

Second place amongst most playful cat breeds is occupied by variety of cats from Siamese family. (For example: Savannah, Balinese, etc). Those cats have very graceful movements, refined looks, boundless devotion to their owners. They are naturally playful and have strong hunters instincts but unlike Abyssinian, they won’t chase imaginary prey. But if they are not in the mood to play, it doesn’t matter how many toys you throw, or how many butterflies land on their nose, they simply won’t budge.

MOST PLAYFUL CAT BREED — Ocicat

Third place — Ocicat. Mix of Abyssinian and Siamese with a blood and looks of a wild cat. Ocicat is in a never-ending search for something or someone to play with, never afraid of guests in the house, and, usually, boldly rush to meet their new potential playmates.

MOST PLAYFUL CAT BREED — Bengal Cat

Fourth place is occupied by Bengal Cat. Despite being larger than majority of other domestic cats they are very active, agile and playful. Being very intelligent breed they won’t chase your «simple» toys, preferring games like «hide and seek», where Bengal can satisfy his hunters instinct. Bengal Cat is not afraid of water, and will happily get his paws wet, if it is necessary in order to catch his prey. Active games are not only a «fun time», but also a necessity for Bengal Cat, due to their tendency to quick weight gains.

MOST PLAYFUL CAT BREED — Munchkin Cat

Fifth on the list of Most Playful Breeds is taken by Munchkin Cat. Small cats with short (relative to their body length) legs, but with a very cheerful and playful temperament. They seem to be not affected by aging, even at their old age Munchkins enjoy playing active games.

But remember, any cat, despite their breed, will often display a playful behavior if you incite them, pay them a proper attention and take a good care of them. Any cat will, sooner or later, get bored of chasing imaginary prey on their own. How playful your cat will be — depends on you.

Personally had a Ragdoll Cat for 17 years, and he was incredibly playful and actively chased anything (including me) around the room until the very last days, even though Ragdolls are not on this list.
