DEALING WITH YOUR CAT’S AGGRESSION

DEALING WITH YOUR CAT’S AGGRESSION

Just like humans, cats have leaders and subordinates. The cats that are dominant by their nature require elementary containment. Otherwise such «leaders» will constantly attempt to «control» their master, to show who is the boss in the house.

DEALING WITH YOUR CAT'S AGGRESSIONIt is natural for cats to use their claws and teeth during the fights, and sometimes «conceited» individuals tend to use them while playing with their master, as a sign of dominance.

Cats choose the «weakest» person in the family as their victim. Someone who can’t stand up for themselves. Simply won’t fight back. Which is not surprising, when you are trying to dominate someone, who is much bigger then you — make sure they are as docile as possible.

But sometimes cats show signs of aggression towards their master with no apparent reason. It is a very common situation: you pet your cat, who is happily purring, then it becomes tense, starts twitching its tail nervously, ready to start biting and scratching.

Some cats start biting and scratching with no apparent reason. Seems like any minor dissatisfaction with their master sets the cat off. And it is very hard to predict such behavior, or find any explanation for it.

How to deal with your cat’s aggression.

Pay attention to the first signs of aggression, as soon as your cat stops purring and becomes tense, stop caressing it. And gently move it away from you.

You can use anything that attracts attention of your cat away from you. It’s toy or food. Or loud noises. A brief disorientation is often enough to make your cat forget about its vicious plans.

If your cat is a born leader, you will have to accept the fact that your cat will never be a joy for you and you will always have to keep its aggression in check.

(But, as a consolation, you can be sure that if your cat gets lost, it will be able to defend itself.)
